Dr. Lydia Patrick is a highly skilled Consultant Pediatrician with extensive experience in child health, neonatal care, and pediatric cardiology. She currently practices at The Karen Hospital, Nairobi, where she provides both outpatient and inpatient services. She has a special interest in managing pediatric cardiac conditions.
Dr. Patrick earned her Doctor of Medicine (MD) degree from Peoples’ Friendship University of Russia. She later obtained a Master of Medicine in Pediatrics and Child Health from Makerere University in Kampala.
With over a decade of experience, Dr. Patrick has worked in leading referral and teaching hospitals in Kenya and Uganda. She has collaborated closely with senior cardiologists and continues to run pediatric cardiology clinics alongside specialists.
At The Karen Hospital, she not only treats complex pediatric cases but also mentors medical teams, supervises clinical staff, and drives quality improvement through Continuous Medical Education (CME).
Dr. Patrick speaks English, Kiswahili, and Russian, which helps her connect with families from diverse backgrounds. She has pursued specialized training in early childhood development, emergency pediatric care, neonatal resuscitation, and adolescent health. In addition, she is an active member of the Kenya Pediatric Association (KPA) and is licensed as a General Pediatrician by the Kenya Medical Practitioners & Dentists Council.
Dr. Patrick contributes to child health through research and publications. In 2022, she co-authored a study titled Encouraging Improvement in HPV Vaccination Coverage Among Adolescent Girls in Kampala, Uganda, published in PLOS ONE. She also conducted research on Hepatitis B vaccination at the Mulago Adolescent Clinic, highlighting her dedication to evidence-based pediatric care.
Passionate about improving outcomes for children, Dr. Patrick focuses on the early diagnosis and management of congenital heart diseases. She is committed to delivering compassionate, evidence-based care for every child.

Dr. Dorcas Koech is a highly qualified Consultant Paediatrician with over nine years of clinical experience. For the past five years, she has specialized in the care of infants, children, and adolescents. At The Karen Hospital’s Paediatrics Clinic, she combines medical expertise with compassion and a strong commitment to child health and wellness.
Dr. Koech is well known for her patient-centered approach. She focuses on diagnosing and treating both acute and chronic childhood illnesses. In addition, she emphasizes preventive care and holistic support, guiding families through every stage of a child’s health journey.
She holds a Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery degree from Moi University and a Master of Medicine in Paediatrics and Child Health from the University of Nairobi. To strengthen her practice, she has also pursued specialized training in Emergency Triage Assessment and Treatment (ETAT+), Newborn ETAT+, Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS), Basic Life Support (BLS), and HIV/TB Clinical Management (NHITC). Recently, she conducted research on disorders of puberty among children and adolescents at Kenyatta National Hospital.
At The Karen Hospital, Dr. Koech works as a Senior Registrar in the Paediatrics Department. Dr. Sylvia Wanjeri Njoroge is a healthcare leader and Senior Medical Officer with over 15 years of experience in clinical practice, healthcare management, and medical education. She has developed deep expertise in Emergency Medicine, Neurology, and lifestyle-related health conditions, with a focus on hypertension, metabolic disorders, and preventive care. She is recognized for her ability to lead high-performing teams, implement effective clinical protocols, and deliver patient-centered care in both hospital and community settings.
Currently, she heads the Accident & Emergency Department at The Karen Hospital, where she leads multidisciplinary teams, develops protocols for high-acuity cases, and integrates preventive strategies into patient care to address lifestyle-related conditions. Previously, she served as Chief Medical Director at Houghton Medical Centre, where she streamlined clinical operations, championed community health outreach, and developed initiatives targeting lifestyle diseases and wellness promotion. Academically, she holds advanced training in Internal Medicine and Neurology, including a Postgraduate Diploma in Clinical Neurology from University College London, and is pursuing further postgraduate studies in Neurology and Internal Medicine.
