The Karen Hospital Medical Training College (TKHMTC) is located along Karen Langata Road and was established on 3rd September 2013.
Thanks to the continued support from our board of directors, staff, students, and partners, TKHMTC has achieved significant milestones:
Accreditation and Registration:We are fully registered by the Nursing Council of Kenya (NCK) and accredited by TVETA and TVET-CDACC, which has allowed us to expand into technical training programs such as the Diploma in Peri-operative Theatre Technology (Level 6).
Clinical Officers Council Accreditation:This has enabled us to successfully launch Higher Diploma programs in Cardiology and Perfusion.
Our team includes specialists in areas such as clinical physiology, oncology, nursing, research, pathology, and forensic medicine—ensuring a rich, interdisciplinary learning experience.
We have grown from just 9 students in 2013 to a current population of 120 students, with over 100 nursing graduates successfully entering the healthcare workforce. Many have secured jobs both locally and abroad—in the UK, USA, and Australia.
Starting with the Nursing Diploma (KRN), we now offer four programs, marking our transition from a nursing school to a full Medical Training College. We aim to become a university by 2030, as outlined in our strategic plan.
Our students train in a Level 5 tertiary hospital, giving them a competitive edge in both local and international markets. We also host Bachelor of Science in Nursing students from other universities for their clinical rotations.
At TKHMTC, we believe in holistic development. Our students actively participate in sports, cultural events, and CSR activities, enriching their college experience beyond the classroom.
We remain committed to offering high-quality training and supporting our students to excel—both academically and professionally. With every success, we move closer to transforming healthcare delivery in Kenya and beyond.
