Dr. Dorcas Koech is a highly qualified Consultant Paediatrician with over nine years of clinical experience. For the past five years, she has specialized in the care of infants, children, and adolescents. At The Karen Hospital’s Paediatrics Clinic, she combines medical expertise with compassion and a strong commitment to child health and wellness.
Dr. Koech is well known for her patient-centered approach. She focuses on diagnosing and treating both acute and chronic childhood illnesses. In addition, she emphasizes preventive care and holistic support, guiding families through every stage of a child’s health journey.
She holds a Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery degree from Moi University and a Master of Medicine in Paediatrics and Child Health from the University of Nairobi. To strengthen her practice, she has also pursued specialized training in Emergency Triage Assessment and Treatment (ETAT+), Newborn ETAT+, Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS), Basic Life Support (BLS), and HIV/TB Clinical Management (NHITC). Recently, she conducted research on disorders of puberty among children and adolescents at Kenyatta National Hospital.
At The Karen Hospital, Dr. Koech works as a Senior Registrar in the Paediatrics Department. She provides both outpatient and inpatient care, mentors junior doctors, and leads clinical improvement initiatives. She also contributes to quality care programs across both public and private health facilities.
Dr. Koech is an active member of the Kenya Paediatric Association (KPA) and the Kenya Medical Association (KMA).
