Title Radiologist

  • Participating in the annual performance appraisals for the staff in the department.
  • To work with Radiographers to maintain and continuously improve the services provided by the department.
  • Contributing to medical imaging research and writing articles for the Hospital
  • To participate in the staff recruitment of diagnostic and imaging staff in consultation with hospital management.
  • Fluoroscopic screening for special procedures
  • To arrange for cover during the consultants absence from work in conjunction with the hospital management.

EDUCATIONAL QUALIFICATIONS

  • Coordination of all patient care activities and interactions with other department both clinical and non clinical.
  • Coordinates the reception of patients for various procedures in the department and by so doing, exercising a high degree of Customer care.

  • Observing and maintaining contact with patients during their waiting, examination and post – examination stay in the department
  • Able to interpret a physician’s instructions, explain MRI procedures to patients, select software options and imaging parameters when adjusting an MRI machine view images from an imaging session and keep records of the results.
  • Also be able to maneuver examination equipment, prepare patients for procedures, move disabled patients from wheelchairs onto examination tables and position them for imaging.

  • Diploma in Diagnostic Radiology or Medical Imaging Sciences

  • 5 years of progressive experience in commercial purchasing, inventory accounting, inventory storage systems, awareness of products, vendors/suppliers.
  • Knowledge of general accounting skills.
  • Must be a member of Kenya Institute of Supplies Management
  • Excellent proficiency in use of Computer packages.
